There is so much to discover in our work. As a salesperson, I meet wonderful people from all over the world and gain more than just profit. Today, I'd like to share the story of Lesley, one of the biggest surprises I've encountered in my work.

The first inquiry from Steven (Lesley's husband) came on November 30, 2018. He was looking for a 2-stroke 40HP outboard motor for his 4-meter-long boat. We exchanged several emails to confirm the details. One day, after I sent him a Christmas card and my best wishes, Lesley replied with a warm email and even attached a picture of her beautiful window blinds. Since then, Lesley and I began emailing regularly.Steven.

Lesley has a fantastic sense of humor and a strong personality. During the payment process, she attempted three transfers, but we didn't receive anything from the bank at first. It turned out that she had tried RMB and AUD for the first two attempts, even though our invoice clearly stated USD. She wasn't worried at all and joked, "Where is my money now? I think the fairies have it."

We also shared pictures of landscapes, food, and animals. One day, she sent me a stunning picture and said, "It just inspires you to take better pictures." To which I replied with a laugh, "Actually, I do take good pictures. LOL." We also discussed our lives and the cultural differences between China and Australia.

After they received the engine, Lesley kept her promise and took the best "buyer show" pictures. In one of her emails, she joked, "OMG, I so need a makeover. Did I ever tell you I'm older than a dinosaur?" Lesley, you are not old at all!

Lesley also sent me a copy of their local newspaper featuring a National Holiday issue. I sent her a photo of me holding the front page of the same newspaper. Guess what? She sent my picture to the editor, and yes – as you might have guessed – I ended up in the Australian newspaper! It was the best experience of 2019. Now I really did need a makeover this time!

One day, I picked a gift for her without telling her what it was. It turned out to be "weirdly" perfect! She shared in her email, "Now, here is the 'weird' thing. When you sent the email saying you were thinking of what to send me, I thought to myself, 'One of those fans would be nice.' The fan I pictured was more of a Spanish-style fan – the kind that opens – because that's the only type I knew of. Then you sent me a fan. Honestly, my jaw dropped open! Talk about coincidence! It's so pretty and even has a bird on it. When you see the room it's in, you'll understand how perfect a gift it was."有一

We were completely in sync! She even framed the fan and hung it on the wall.
