1. Place the outboard motor on the centerline at the stern of the ship
The outboard engine should be installed on the centerline (keel line) of the ship to maintain balance. Otherwise, the ship may be difficult to maneuver. If the ship shape is asymmetrical, please consult the dealer for appropriate solutions.
2. Tighten the crossbeam clamping bolts
Firstly, place the outboard motor on the stern plate as close to the center as possible. Then tighten the clamping screws evenly and firmly.
matters needing attention:
Please ensure that the clamping screw is securely tightened. During the operation of the outboard motor, occasionally check the tightness of the clamping screws to prevent the clamping bolts from loosening due to engine vibration. It is recommended to use stainless steel bolts as they will not rust.
Please note that loose clamping screws may cause the outboard motor to detach or move on the stern plate. This may lead to loss of control and serious injury.
Unlike gasoline engines, most electric outboard engines do not require engine mounts, backplates, or drilling mounting holes, especially for small boats.
3. Use two screws to secure the outboard motor to the ship
If you want to install the outboard motor more firmly, it is recommended to use screws to install the outboard motor on the stern of the ship. Ensure that the outboard motor is securely fixed, as loose clamping screws may cause the outboard engine to fall into the water or be damaged.
Before each use, check the screws or clips as they may loosen due to mechanical vibration.
It is recommended to use cables to prevent complete damage to the outboard motor when it falls from the stern of the ship.
