Once your battery is fully charged, the starting solenoid valve plays a critical role in the engine ignition process. It serves as a powerful electrical relay and is a key component in the ignition system of the outboard engine. When you turn the key or press the start button, the solenoid starts working. It essentially takes a small amount of current from the battery and amplifies it, allowing a larger current to flow towards the starter motor itself.
